Summit Autism Services is a behavioral consulting company dedicated to providing professional evidence-based behavior analytic services to children with autism and related developmental disabilities. In collaboration with families and other professionals, we create individual goals and apply best practices from multiple disciplines to provide effective treatment for each child. Our treatment methodology incorporates the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA), knowledge and understanding of infant/child development, and emphasis on positive social-emotional relationships, and communication development.
We are currently hiring ABA Tutors to work 1:1 with children with autism (or related developmental disabilities) through our Outreach Program in El Paso, TX. Staff members of Summit Autism Services are dedicated professionals, committed to the belief that all children can learn through scientific, data-driven methods, and work closely as a positive and supportive team. Each child is assigned an ABA Tutor and works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
As an ABA Tutor, you will be working one on one with children diagnosed with autism. Tutors provide therapy in a variety of settings including in-home, or in a social/functional settings within the community. Tutors are responsible for engaging their clients during the session, including setting up learning opportunities to promote language and communication, teaching appropriate play and social skills, working on activities of daily living, and implementing behavior strategies to reduce challenging behaviors that might occur.
Children in our program range from infant to 21 years in age. Shift times vary depending upon the age and needs of client. Typically, services are provided in the afternoons, evenings, and the occasional weekend. Flexible schedules are available making this an ideal supplementary position for individuals employed as instructional assistants, teachers, and students with the requisite experience.
Applicants must:
• Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and have completed 500 hours of employment providing ABA services; OR
• Have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development or related fields and be currently enrolled in a course of study leading to an associate’s or bachelor’s degree by an accredited college or university; OR
• Have a completed a minimum of 48 semester hours (or their equivalent) of college coursework in an accredited college or university; AND
• Be available a minimum of 10 hours per week
• Be friendly, compassionate, organized and reliable
• Be professional, motivated and energetic
• Have reliable transportation
