Telephone Service Representative (TSR)

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for responding to a broad variety of member service calls such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificate accounts and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems in a prompt and courteous manner. Resolves member questions and problems regarding account statements, loans, payments, automatic transfers, interest rates, and investment certificates. Cross sells services and supports all functions within the Call Center. Assists or appropriately refers members with any and all questions or problems that arise. Attends to all telephone inquiries and transactions for members. Assists and supports department and FLFCU personnel as needed. Processes and underwrites loans.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school graduate or equivalent.
FLFCU lending level 1 within one year of appointment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
General knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
Basic understanding of loans, payment processes, and interest rates.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Six months sales experience in a customer service environment. Previous call center experience desirable.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Excellent communication and public relations skills.
Ability to work well in a high volume call center environment.
Above average ability to use a personal computer and related software applications including Microsoft Word or Excel.
Solid math skills and bookkeeping abilities.
Ability to analyze and determine opportunities to cross-sell products and services or offer solutions to customers.
Ability to gain and demonstrate sound lending functions.
Must be able to demonstrate established competency levels for all required regulatory or compliance-related processes and/or procedures within established timeframes of appointment.

TRAINING REQUIRED
As part of our commitment to excellence, this position requires a two week training class held in El Paso, TX 79924. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Successful candidates must be able to pass a series of screening checks to include a credit check, bondability check, background check, reference check, and complete their entire training program on a continuous basis, et cetera.
